Special Maryam’s Divine Brunch on the Rooftop!

By | January 25, 2016

SMFLB-003

A while back, OK a few months back, I’ve had the pleasure of being invited for a “special” lunch cooked by the one and only Special Maryam, the amazing young chef who is makes the luscious bagels and melt-in-your-mouth fresh pastas of Maria Rustica and, the one behind the menu of the one and only Bao, which I’ve had the pleasure in sinking my teeth into several times and if you’ve read my review you’d know how much I’ve enjoyed it.Lucky me headed to a “secret” rooftop in Kuwait City, on a 31st floor overlooking a dazzling 360degrees view of Kuwait’s capital. Salad Boutique’s New Office Meal Box

By | October 1, 2013

sbcms-006

I’m a big fan of Salad Boutique, always been and always will. I’ve ordered their salads on many occasions before, either to take with me for a gathering or to simplify salad making for gatherings held at my place. I don’t usually order them for my own meals though since the portion is too big and it takes me several days to finish one salad which ends up old and wilted, and wilted salads are not that fun per-say. I always wondered why they don’t introduce individual portion salads suitable for one person and they didn’t until last week when they launched their new corporate solution menu.  Read more »

Cooking the Perfect Scrambled Eggs for Breakfast

By | August 29, 2013

segrs-003

A long time ago, when Google Reader was alive and kicking, I remember a fellow blogger posted a video of Gordon Ramsey preparing scrambled eggs. The only way I can actually crave and eat eggs is by eating them scrambled and not every restaurant can make them the way I consider them scrambled. You know yellow, creamy, with soft peaks and the entire thing in one piece. Ever since I saw the video I’ve wanted to make scrambled eggs at home but I never really got the chance to try and cook them until last weekend. Read more »

Breakfast at Jones the Grocer in Dubai

By | August 28, 2013

bajtgid-008

For a while now I kept hearing raving reviews about a Jones the Grocer, an Australian franchise restaurant/deli/gourmet grocery shop that’s recently opened up in Dubai. I’ve seen pictures and read the reviews and could tell it was an excellent popular place that I’d love to visit. Therefore when I was in Dubai I made sure I head over for breakfast and go early, I’ve heard they are always busy with eager diners. Read more »

Just before the start of the Eid holiday Heil & Zafa’arn, a local bakery selling traditional Kuwaiti desserts and sweets, sent me a big basket filled with their goodies. The basket had a greeting card attached to it with the words “Eid Breakfast” printed on it in Arabic, and a lavish Eid breakfast basket it was indeed! Read more »

Breakfast at The Farm Restaurant in Dubai

By | August 22, 2013

tfbp-014

Each time I’m in Dubai there must be a list of newly opened places I’ve never been before to explore. On the top of my list was The Farm restaurant recommended by many people I know, doing so while gushing about the breathtaking scenery and the amazing food. Since I was there for the Eid holiday and the first breakfast after Ramadan is my number one breakfast of the year, I knew I it should be in The Farm. Read more »

Obsessed with Labna Sandwiches for Breakfast

By | August 21, 2013

oatls-001

Ever since we began having breakfast again I’ve been crazy about having Labna sandwiches for some reason. I used to think I like labna just fine, but I’ve come to the realisation that I adore labna and actually prefer it more than cheese for breakfast. Funny how you can still discover things you’ve never known about yourself. If you don’t know what labna is, it’s more a dairy product that tastes as tangy as Greek yoghurt and has the consistency of spreadable cheese, a tad runnier though. Read more »

On the night before I left for my eid holiday in Dubai my friend Mira whatsapped me about Yamanoti, a newly opened Japanese bakery & cafe in Dubai thinking I’d like to check it out. She was right of course, for the moment I set my eyes on their instagram account I knew I wanted to try it on the first day of Eid and I did manage to do so.  Read more »

Breakfast at C-Omar in the Avenues

By | June 16, 2013

Growing up in the 80’s meant watching a lot of Egyptian movies and TV serieses. Whenever I was watching and they had breakfast, I’d wish I was joining them at the table and eating from their breakfast, always plates laden with food and people sharing. Therefore when I knew that the modernised Egyptian-themed restaurant C-omar began to serve breakfast, I wanted to go and see what they had to offer.  Read more »

The count down to the holy month of Ramadan has started and I cannot wait for that special time of year to be here, but I know for sure that the one thing I will miss most is having breakfast in the morning. Hence, I’m trying to have a lavish breakfast whenever the occasion rises. One lavish, extremely delicious breakfast I’ve had recently was in the newest branch of Fauchon Cafe located in the Avenues. Breakfast at Figs by Todd English in the Avenues

By | April 21, 2013

bafota-009-1

Ever since Figs by Todd’s English opened up in 360 Mall they served breakfast and judging by the pictures of diners I saw on instagram, it was a breakfast that I really wanted to try. However, I’m not much of a fan of Figs in 360, for one thing the seating area bears too much resemblance to the food court next door. I saw the pictures, got hungry, yet knew I’d never drag myself up from bed during the weekend to go to their 360 branch. Read more »

The Taken for Granted Breakfast

By | April 2, 2013

Breakfast at Cafe Bazza in the Avenues

By | March 12, 2013

bicb-003-1One of the places I’ve been waiting to try for breakfast is the Avenues branch of Cafe Bazza. I’m already a fan of their food/theme/atmosphere and I’ve tried them for dinner/lunch/breakfast many times but I’ve never been to the Avenues branch which is located in the traditional Souk section. Whenever I arrive there at 10 or 9:30 A.M. I find it pretty crowded and the outdoors tables are all taken so last week I made it there at 9:20 A.M. and to my Read more »
