Do you pick up your own trash at the movies?

By | July 15, 2011

I have a question for you. How many of you after watching a movie pick up their own empty boxes of popcorn and coke and dispose of them in the trash cans outside? Raise you hands please.

Why is it whenever a movie ends, the cinema looks like a war zone? Empty coke cups flying everywhere, smashed popcorn trail all over the place, trash wherever you look. What happened over there, the war of the worlds with hooligans?

Can’t you dispose of your own trash? Can’t your highness just pickup the box of popcorn you munched on and just throw it in the trash can? A very civilized move I must say, because leaving your own trash behind you is nothing short of disrespectful. There are cleaners you say? So what! Can’t you make their job easier by helping them out?

My husband and I collect out trash before we collect our belongings when the movie ends. We carry it all the way with us until we find the poor cleaners with bags open and we put our trash and filth in there. We are still the same people, our dignity is intact and our pride is unscratched. There is nothing wrong in picking up your own trash and disposing of it. Expecting others to do it for you by default is what’s wrong.

Through your trash out people. Be classy and pickup after yourselves. 3n el qalaq 3aib 3lekom!

I completely agree with you. I always pick up my trash and even if theirs trash in my way I bend over and pick it up too.

I don’t understand this mentality of thinking its okay to just throw your trash on the ground. I’m not just talking about the movie theaters, but around the whole country. Kuwait is really damn dirty if you think about it! Theres people I know who when then throw something in front of me, I ask them to pick it up. Only about 50% of the time they actually do and they don’t think its a problem. When they don’t pick it up, I pick it up for them and that pretty much embrasses the shit out of them and makes them look stupid in front of their friends.

Sad thing is, peoples till litter even if I say something about it. Smokers just looooooooveeeeeeeeeeee flicking their used cigarette onto the ground. I ask them why can’t they flick it towards the trash can, in which 99% of the time they are within distance to flick it towards there, but they don’t say anything back. Yani what? Its cool to flick your cigarette onto the ground or something?

I don’t understand at all.

I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this abroad, and here in the US .. outside every theatre they have a HUGE trash can. What do we have in Kuwait? The normal ones they use around the mall and they’re usually full.

I for one carry my trash, I actually end up carrying it around cinescape till I find an empty trash can.

Provide an easy means of disposal and I’m pretty sure the percentage of “trash-throwers” will increase .. even if it’s a slight one.

Don’t give them the chance to have excuses.

There is! Believe me there is! When people are filing out of the theater there is the cleaner standing by a big trash can where we usually throw our trash but in some cinemas it isn’t possible. El 3ebra mo bel trash cans lo et7e6 lohom trash cans below their seats ham etshoof el zbala o el crushed popcorn!

I always pick up my trash because I think it’s our respodibility as citizens to keep our country clean. I really feel sorry for whoever owns cinescape because they have to hire unnessory employies. I think if those men weren’t there people would most likely pick up their trash because the place otherwise would be filthy!

Exactly. The least we can do is keep our country clean by cleaning after ourselves :(
