Instagram’s No-Nos and Etiquette
By danderma | May 2, 2012
1- You saw a picture, you liked it, you are curious, normal mo? Then first read the location, then look at the picture carefully, then read el picture description, then read the comments, then for the love of god if you cannot Google the thing, ask the damned words “Min Wain”.
2- “How much” is a very rude word. A9lan even in life 3aib you ask someone “ebcham this o ebcham that”. Don’t.
3- Instagram is about capturing the moment you are in. Ga6o yetmaqa6, yahel emlaqme6 wayha. Something funny, frustrating, sad, yummy, ele oho. It is not your flickr profile. Its OK for people to mix some pictures here and there, but do not use your Instagram to showcase your “photography talents” then complain to anyone who would listen that no one liked your professional pictures while everyone likes someone else’s iPhone picture and that people obviously have no taste that’s why they didn’t like yours.
4- Don’t preach about religion. I believe we are all grown ups who have been brought up well and know how to worship god by now. Shoving your religious believes down our throats is unacceptable. Say to yourself “Allah yahdeehom” at the comfort of your own home please o bs.
5- Say masha2 Allah! For the love of god thekraw Allah! Not only in instagram, in your daily life too! Everywhere and whatever you see, just say Masha2 Allah! If 3yonkom 7arra y3ni mafrooth min nafskom ter7moon elnass o ma tdahweronhom.
6- If you have nothing good to say, then please don’t say it. You will be blocked and people will see the exact level of class you have. In other words, 7eshmaw nafskom.
7- If you read that a person is invited somewhere and being catered food, don’t say “ask the host how much o min wain”. If you are a malgoofa, please don’t expect us to be one also.
8- If you follow a food selling business, you like their food, do not ask for the recipe. Just because you are behind the screen doesn’t give you the right to ask for the recipe y3ni. Wain 9arat hathe?
9- You see someone posting about food? Don’t go “waay basikom 9owar akel eshkether takloon”. Mo sho’3lich. A7ad gallich follow people ’3asob? Simply unfollow if you cannot control your cravings.
10- We do understand that on Instagram there are competitions where winners with the most likes win some kind of prize. If you participate in one, please do not beg for votes by mentioning every instagram user in your pictures and saying “please vote for me” when we didn’t even know of your existence before. Its simply pathetic. If your picture is actually good, it will win! 3n el6rara!
What about you, fellow instagrammers? What would you like to add to this list?

Some of the users don’t like reading the comments I think that
the reason they keep asking but I think its not that annoying you
simply can ignore and don’t answer that question ..
Add to the list : Something you should do in Instagram
such as paying attention to whom are following you and
keep voting for your pictures , Show that you appreciated
that by visiting there profile and take a look you might
fine some interesting pictures or at least one single picture
to vote for .. !
As a blogger you should be more patient and more understanding
than anyone else right ?

But sometimes it gets too much. You can’t really keep repeating what you already wrote, over and over and over again. And some people are really mean! As in, its like they have to fight with someone. I don’t think its fair that because I’m a blogger I should tolerate abuse, its no difference than abusive comments. But given that its human’s nature to try and draw negative attention, I’ve learned that the best thing is to immediately block without responding. Period.

You don’t have to repeat what you already wrote, over and over and over again

Yes tell me about mean people like we don’t know about them before
Sis this called the (World) we live in! , What I meant about you are blogger I mean
you must have more experience in dealing with different kinds of people and you must know better than anyone else I hope you got my point there …

Laa I know and I’ve seen plenty of weird ppl while blogging but they were always hidden behind a nickname. What I wasn’t ready for was seemingly normal people with lives just like us, full names and children and pictures and families, but acting in the most vicious way. That took me by surprise. Then again why should I when people back-stab you in life all the time? Only without proof in front of an entire audience that is. We live and learn bro, live and learn…

what really bothers me is that some ppl use instagram as their personal photo albus w tefi9i5 9ij ana ma3a freedom of speech and all and to respect their space and all bs too much
ambay ga3da ashoof 9war mala da3i wala lazim ye7o6on block unless their sure your age appropiate !! ya3ny 3aib wala
danderma on May 3, 2012 at 10:33.
Etha wayed mofa9eekh tra you kan report them as “nudity” :p
Bs the best thing to do for them is to simple unfollow. Even Instagrammers abroad are saying please tone down the cleavage pictures. Human nature to show off I suppose.

Add to the list those who add a thousand tags to their images that you can’t even read the caption.
Those who take images from Google and post a thousand after each other.
Those who take pictures of their abs, lips, face, whatever body part and post it day after day!
Those who take a picture of people who liked their photos or followed them and write a “Thanks Flana for liking my photos”.
And I guess there are so many others oh yeah and those who follow you and if you follow back they unfollow
danderma on May 4, 2012 at 11:52.
Ee ana ytha7kone ele take picture of themselves all day long, a finger, a lash, tip of the nose, pouty lips. Maybe if we put them all together we will finally end up with the entire picture!

LOL 7elwa like a demented puzzle
965malls on May 4, 2012 at 18:55.
i’d add, for god sake don’t follow me, then “unfollow” 10 minutes later.. how low is that!
danderma on May 5, 2012 at 15:59.
I was told once that a guy on Twitter got 10,000 followers by following people, they being too polite not to follow back, then he would unfollow them later when they weren’t looking :p That’s how he ended up with a 100 following and a 10,000 followers and everyone is hailing him for being an important “mo’3ared” based on that number. I am guessing some are following the path of this fella in instagram. Just follow whomever u want to follow.

interesting story.. unethical tactics..
danderma on May 6, 2012 at 09:13.
Indeed! But the Arabic proverb goes, man laho 7eelaton fal ya7tal!
965malls on May 4, 2012 at 18:55.
i mean once i follow you…
The Collector on May 10, 2012 at 05:39.
Well said, this should be emailed out to everyone.
I agree with all your points, and I’ve recently been facing the problem of: people requesting to follow me, me denying their request, getting the same request two days later. And they range from family to co workers. If I don’t want you there I just won’t accept, why is that a problem? I’ve taken to ignoring the requests so they can’t re-add but I have to scroll throw a miserable list (half of which at this point are from boutiques) to reach my comments.
pesht. :p
danderma on May 10, 2012 at 10:35.
Wow that sounds pretty annoying! But sometimes people don’t get the hint. I usually never follow people who are private because I feel like I’m imposing and require an invite. Maybe only a handful of the people I follow are private because private means, well, private!
Sara on May 11, 2012 at 15:22.
Hey Danderma.
I really found this post enlightening although some points come as logical but I’m afraid some people these days have no logic or sense of righteousness that you need to point them out.
About salfat ilcomments min wain. I agree with the previous comments as a blogger you should be a bit more patient than the rest of us I know it’s tedious but I guess it’s one of the cons. I have a suggestion though: you can tag the photo min awal from where it is ya3ni eg photo of a ring hash tag from where u got it.
Salfat points 4 and 5 are quite a contradiction, I mean some of us are not religious so maybe something 3ijabna we say “Allah cute wila amazing or nice” mo il kil mit3awid igool mashallah. O fee nas igooloon mashallah bad 3ainhum 7ara so it comes to a9l ilniya.
