If you find yourself in a situation where you are home on your own, ready to have some precious me quality time, only a pest in the name of brai39i -dessert lizard- decides to intrude and crash your party of one. The slimy, greyish pest with round probing eyes will zoom on the wall where your favourite couch is perched, hissing soundlessly, his tail flailing about, and you will find yourself screaming your lungs out while your legs jump to the furtherest corner of the room away from him.

Now that the night is ruined, the adrenaline rush and the loud thumping of your heart you can hear with your ears will erase all chances of relaxation from the agenda, you know you have three choices: 1- grab your keys and drive away, as fast as you can or 2- ignore the pest and try and keep an eye on him until someone who can kill him arrives home or 3- kill him yourself and get rid of the intruder once and for all.

I don’t know about you but I’ve never, ever killed a lizard before! They are too agile, and they zoom by when they sense danger. They are also very small and slimy which means they can easily hide behind all pieces of furniture, they seem to have a knack for choosing the heaviest unmovable objects around by the way. In the case of cockroaches you can spray them with pif paf and they will go all dizzy, but in the case of brai39i pif paf will do nothing to him, might as well inhale the thing and get the courage to attack you instead of running away from you. Leaving the lizard roaming the house is also not an option, he must be killed on the spot or else.

So what would you do? Do you have any recommendations on how to kill a lizard if there are no strong people who can aim a heavy slipper around?

  1. loooooooool 1- grab your keys and drive away hehehe shda3wa !!

Ok here is a solution if you don’t want to actually kill a lizard , Grab your Vacuum and let it suck it into the bag then while its still working ” remember Do not switch it off until you take this Vacuum in a secure closed part of your home” and when any one arrives home just tell him to deal with it :)

You have to secure everything in your home and make everything clean
using Dettol and Clorox and other cleaning stuff .

Seriously the best way to avoid seeing these pests visit this page
this service is free of charge :
    http://www.e.gov.kw/MOH_ar/Pages/ServicesContent/MOH00314PestControl.aspx

Or you can call any other Pest Control Services to spray inside your house as well in case if you have any old storage , attic ect….

Thank you for the links! Most useful indeed, didn’t know the MOH had a page on how to control them. I will check them out now :)

Yup. I vacuum them up too..first I spray any bug spray on them which slows them down and then I suck it in the vacuum and get the maid or hubby to take it outside and kill it.

Ugh but he is roaming inside the vacuum! He can climb out and his presence is still in the room! I could never do that :'(

I just saw this post, and had to respond since I AM TERRIFIED OF LIZARDS, and I can’t stand them. The following is what I did: I found out that they were coming in from the duct/vent (I am not kidding, I saw one, and a huge one, making his way into my room through the vent) and I called a company (I think Alghanim, can’t remember since I left Q8 a long time ago) and had them install a wire mesh/mesh in all the duct/vents in the house, so that the lizards had no way of coming in. Apparently from the roof, they find a way to making it into the house through the ducts. Next, I put a wire mesh in all the bathrooms ventilators, and that helped a lot to solve the problem. I hope that works for you.

Ewwww they do that? Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew EW!
Sadly I cannot install anything in the AC ducts since the apartment I’m in is a rental but that’s disgusting! I never knew they did that g63!
