Movie Review: Bad Neighbours

By | June 5, 2014

I saw the trailer for this movie when I was in the UK and thought to myself it would be one good movie to watch. However, finding out it was banned in Kuwait I thought to myself I’d wait to watch it on TV or a DVD when its out but to my luck I got to watch it when I was in Australia and it was the first film I did watch there on the first or second day of my arrival.

The movie is about a couple with a new born baby who have just settled for a quite life in the suburbs when suddenly a college fraternity house move next door. As expected, the couple try to come to terms with the noise next door and treat the college kids nicely but before you know it both neighbours are at each others throats trying to get back at the other and their motto seems to be all is fair in war!

The movie is quite funny and the trailer didn’t give much away from the funny moments, there are plenty more to laugh at and it does deal with the age group of people in their 30s who are not as youthful as college kids yet are not really that old but are thought old by the kids and they have to come to terms with that.  30 is still the new 20 though only a more mature and wise 20 :p

Though there are some moments sensitive viewers might think inappropriate in the movie I don’t think it was worth banning in Kuwait. They could have chopped it up like they did Hangover II rather than ban it but then again either way we would still be complaining in the end, wouldn’t we? Anyways we did enjoy our time and would be definitely willing to watch it again when it comes out on DVD.

I’ve been dying to see this movie! I just have to wait for it on DVD rather than watching it on the big-screen unless I get a chance when I travel anywhere. I’m a huge fan of the Franco brothers, before there was Johnny Depp there has always been James Franco and I don’t know I just have a thing for goofy guys with loop-sided grins 😛 Seth Rogen and James Franco have been friends since “Freaks and Geeks” and well I just love their collabo hehe ;P

Your review made me just want to see it even more! Hehe if you haven’t seen “Chef” please go see it, I saw it this past weekend and I think you would love this. A few colleagues at work told me they hated the movie because it wasn’t the usual block-buster type of movie but really the message behind the movie is insanely awesome and moving at the same time! 😛 So go go go! And I warn you, you will get hungry during and after the movie ;P

Ooh I like the Franco brothers too, I know what you mean with the grin though I like watching James more than Dave on the screen for some reason. The movie is so much fun indeed and it hits the spot for people who are neither kids nor old, just somehow floating in between :)

I saw Chef and loved it! Now I’ve been craving the grilled cheese sandwich ever since! I also saw the other woman, was it you who saw it and recommended it to me? I don’t seem to remember these days!

James is more fun to watch because of the goofiness he has in him hehe he’s just like an adult kid 😛 Hehe and yeah I recommended “The Other Woman” wasn’t it hilarious?! Hehehe ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’ Hehehehe the revenge scenes were deadly LOL! 😛

Lool it was funny all right, but reminded me so much of a book I’ve read once called getting rid of Mathew? If I remember correctly that is! Bad Neighbours is way funnier btw.
