Things 2 Do in London: Tarte Tatin at Café Rouge

Cordova By | June 13, 2010

If you frequent the UK often… you would recognize Café Rouge. There is one branch of Café Rouge in particular that is a favorite of mine… I remember the day i took those pictures… cold chilling breeze blowing from every direction… the sun playing hide and seek with the clouds… sporadically sending some warmth in our direction… simply amazing…

I could sit there for hours… sipping a frothy cappuccino and eating a gorgeous Tart Tatin while people watching and reading a good book i have recently purchased from Waterstones…
The froth on their cappuccino’s is simply irresistible!
There comes my Tart Taine… my favorite dessert… in the menu it is described as a “Warm caramelised French apple tart with vanilla ice cream”
The caramelized apples are so rich and sweet… it is a treat just biting into them… the heat from the tart melts the vanilla ice cream gentle… thus sprinkling the tiny vanilla bean speckles over the warm apple tart… the bottom flaky pastry would also get mixed with the melted ice cream and it would be the perfect combination of mush and crunch when you bite into it…
It is the dessert to order… over and over and over again… So worth ruining your diet over… and not to be shared with anyone for you cannot guarantee a second bite if you do…
I wasn’t planning on sharing my 2nd best dessert at Café Rouge, nor their perfect breakfast… but seeing how it made me feel so good to remember those lovely days… i will post them soon Insha2 Allah 😀

Death by Tart Tatin sounds like a good way to go at Cafe Rouge, especially over the cold festive season this year. Great photo’s too.
