The Monument to the Great Fire of London, or as it’s usually abbreviated as The Monument, is a tall stone column erected in place of the bakery where the great fire of London was started in 1666 that destroyed half of London back then.

If you are a history fan and usually entranced by old stories and locations you will love this place. It is accessible via The Monument tube station, you can up the monument to the observe a lovely panoramic view of the City of London.
