When we woke up on what was going to be the our very first morning in our #Room753 trip to Australia we found out it was 11 A.M. and that the breakfast at Sofitel Hotel was already closed for diners -they finish at 10 A.M.!-. Starving and with nothing planned for the entire day ahead we decided to take it easy and just explore Brisbane on foot as far as our tired and jet-lagged feet would take us. An Read more »
Because I’m still editing the pictures of my #Room753 bloggers trip to Australia I tend to be working on an instinct base rather than a logical or a time base for editing. After editing and posting about the star-studded skies of Mount. Tamborine I began editing the pictures for one of my favourite chocolate cafes Read more »

By the time I post this I’d be fighting to keep my eyes open after a long day’s trip from Kuwait all the way to the land down under. I’m on my way to Queensland, Australia as part of the #Room753 bloggers trip to Queensland and yesterday -or I think it was yesterday- at 8 P.M. I bid good bye to the stray cats residing in the street where our apartment in Kuwait is located and headed for the airport to catch the 10:20 PM Emirates Plane to Dubai, UAE. Read more »
I remember the day very well. It was night time, and I was drinking tea in my favourite mug while spending a quiet night alone with the lights dimmed when I received an email from my contact form. The email was from Think! Social Media and it was asking if I am interested in joining 21 other bloggers from around the world in project #Room753 which involves a trip to visit Queensland, Australia!
At first it didn’t register, all I understood was something Read more »
If you’ve been reading my blog for more than a year you might remember that we participated in a bloggers cooking competition under the name of Project-X last June (post). I teamed up with my favourite Pink Girl and together we made the spiciest, weirdest, and frankly not that appetising dishes in the competition and came last :p I’ve almost given up on seeing the videos but lo and behold, a year later and they are finally released for the world to see. It all started earlier last week when a brown paper wrapped small package was dropped at home, wrapped in white ribbon, with my blog’s name on it from Ghaliah Technology, a distinguished social media company in Kuwait that we’ve been dealing with for a while now. Read more »
I’ve known Standy for as long as I’ve been a blogger. Back in the days when blogs were stricly personal and we used to know what everyone’s day was like without getting fingers pointed at us for being too self centered ego maniac. Anyways, Standy lives in Muscat, Oman and though she blogs once in every few months now adays she posted on Instagram that she was heading to Kuwait. One thing Read more »
I’m astonished with every passing day at the lengths some people would go to to attend a blogger’s event and sadly we’ve seen with our own eyes bloggers that no one had heard of before because they just started yesterday shamelessly asking the event organizers shamelessly to be invited as well or even fighting Read more »
A group of bloggers were discussing last year’s events, what’s good what’s funny what’s bad, and then the conversation turned to what’s the most annoying thing we’ve each encountered in these events. There were so many but some of them kept repeating so I’ve decided post about those point in hopes that the next time someone decides to throw an event and invite bloggers, they’d take these points into Read more »
Last week I received the cutest invitation ever to attend Zain’s BBQ night. A small bag filled with tiny ketchup, tabasco sauce, and mustard tied around a spatula! The BBQ, as expected, was Read more »
We were invited by M. H. Al-Shaya Company yesterday to attend the bloggers & media tour of the newly opened Grand Avenue, or what else is known as the Avenues Phase III extention. The tour was due to begin an hour before the official opening of the Read more »
Today, 30th of June, we celebrate the Social Media day! Thanks to social media, we are all glued to our tech devices all the time, connecting with everyone everywhere on planet earth. Knowledge is power, and social media made access to knowledge as fast as a click of a button.
In honor of this day the social media club released the video where different people with different experiences in the social media field talk about this day. Your truly is one of them appearing somewhere -I’m too afraid to watch- as well as many of my fellow bloggers like Ansam, His & Hers, Blog 37, Q8 Stig, and Q8 Path. So without further ado watch the video and have a happy social media day -ironically Instagram is down but we can still enjoy it nevertheless-.
The list is back again for April 2012! Many new blogs to check but not many made a big impression, some did though. And the top ten is quite solid, only a minor change. However we at least have a female blogger in the top 5 bloggers of Kuwait
The list is back again for March 2012! I’ve noticed a big drop in the quantity of over all blog posts in Kuwait so I thought this list might stir things up a bit for my fellow bloggers!
2012 is different indeed! A lot of new blogs popping up yet none are making a big impression. Usual blogs are not posting that much anyway. We really do need new fresh post -and blog- ideas.
The big surprise however is that even though I’ve searched the ranking of 400 blogs, only 97 had any ranking at all! My theory is that since a lot of bloggers are not posting a lot of the internet users of Kuwait are browsing something else other than blogs. Either that or Instagram is really dominating the blogs and everyone is over there :p
Disclaimers again. For the love of god read them!
Spittal an der DrauDisclaimer One The blogs that made it to the list are blogs about Kuwait whether originating from Kuwait or not or whether they are by Kuwaiti nationals or expats living in Kuwait. That’s why I said KUWAITI blog.
Disclaimer Two I still believe the Alexa rank is way overrated, easily manipulated, and highly volatile. It is not a real measure of how a blog is popular but it doesn’t hurt to check it every once in a while as some sort of measure. Its the only semi-reliable measure I can think of. No fighting please.
Disclaimer Three DO NOT ASK ME how to calculate the Alexa rating. For the love of god go to Alexa.com and enter your blog URL. If no local rating is there then THAT’s IT!
Disclaimer Four If you know of a blog I missed or a new blog that is gliding up the top in rocket speed please let me know
Disclaimer Five I am Danderma, not Alexa! I do not have the power to rate you or give you a number. Therefore trying to be nice to me will mean nothing. Please remember that.
First off I apologize for not doing the December 2011 post for it was extremely hectic. To be frank I didn’t realize there were many people waiting! So I made it up to you by getting the January 2012 ratings early before the 31st of the month
I didn’t realize it was 30 November already until it was almost too late! Maybe because it was filled with vacations? Anyways it came and went without it fully registering in my mind that its here! Temperatures have also gone beyond Read more »
October has gone by in a flash and it was filled to the brim with activities! Phew! Its also the month we should be getting humid weather but instead its cold and cloudy and amazing! Thank god!

Some blogs did well, some blogs were set back. But then again everyone was travelling and it was quite a hectic summer. I do have the two declaimers like always…

I wanted to post this list on Thursday but since its a holiday I don’t think anyone would even check blog. Now lets see, the last time I composed this list was in May and it made quite a fuss around the Kuwaiti Blogsphere. Now I am composing it again, including all those blogs that I missed last time, and to measure the progress of blogs during the month of June.
Some blogs did well, some blogs were set back. But then again it was finals time and summer travel time so the difference is understandable. Now I have to disclaimers here…

I was wondering how many Kuwaiti blogs are out there and how do they add up in terms of Alexa ranking. I was also thinking how the Alexa ranking changes in a matter of two weeks only and why do we always care about the top ten or twenty. So I made this Alexa based list of the top 50 Kuwaity blogs I know about according to the rankings of today the 26th of May. They are the blogs originating from Kuwait whether they are by Kuwaiti Nationals or not. I thought I would share it with you and make people happy
A Desclaimer: I believe the Alexa rank is way overrated and is not a real measure of how a blog is popular but it doesn’t hurt to check it every once in a while. Also, if you know of a blog I missed please let me know
Khal enwanes roo7na eshwaya. Even though I believe the Alexa rank is way overrated and is not a real measure of how a blog is popular but it doesn’t hurt to check it every once in a while.
So lets see, according to my calculations on Alexa for May 11 2011 here is today’s top twenty Kuwaiti blogs. By Kuwaiti I mean blogs from Kuwait regardless of their nationality. There are a lot of gaps in the numbers though and most likely there are many blogs that have a better ranking so if you know of any let me know please.
