buy prednisone with mastercard eaghn

Because I spend most of my weekend evenings for the past few months lurking in farmers markets and looking for delicious, lip-smacking culinary local creations, I’ve somehow come across Eat & Glow’s booth once or twice but never was able to purchase anything from them for it was either too crowded or I was out of cash. Then one day while checking Eat & Glow’s instagram account I came across their version of a giandujaa, or as they dubbed it “Healthy Nutella”, for its a much lighter version of hazelnut and cacao spread with much less butter and minimal usage of sugar, if any.  Read more »

Lamy’s Perfumes Eid Gift

By | August 18, 2013

lpeg-006

Just before the Eid holiday I received a lovely Eidiya from the lovely Lamya Al-Farsi, the owner of Lamy’s Perfumes, a local perfume making business. I’ve had the pleasure to meet Lamya a while back in a perfume exhibition where she mixed perfumes from different scents on the spot (post). Lamy’s perfumes are well known for their different and sometimes daring scents, you wouldn’t find any other Kuwaiti perfume maker who would make scents like ice cream or cheesecakes for example. Happy Birthday to Me… My 30 Things List

By | July 17, 2013

ttingtbtt

I was born in Ramadan 1430 in the hijri, or lunar calendar. The lunar year is now 1434 and today is my birthday again and the first birthday to coincide with my Lunar birth month as well, which is something that occurs once every 33 years only! Happy birthday to me, I’m 19 once more and forever and I have to say being in your 30’s is not bad at all. If anything, somehow it feels better than being in your 20’s. You are much wiser, more accomplished, more confident, less awkward, and people take you more seriously plus you don’t look that old. Read more »

My Book Featured in a Year of Reading the World Project

By | December 20, 2012

A while back I was contacted by Ann Morgan, a journalist from the UK who working on a project to read a book from differnt countries in around the world in one year. Her project attracted attention from CNN, two newspapers in the UK, and made it to the UNESCO’s list of list of initiatives for World Book Day. Her book reading journey is document on her website www.aYearofReadingtheWorld.com

Guess what book she read and featured from Kuwait? My humble Dathra’s book! Let me tell you this, having my little book read in a worldwide reading project and actually making a good impression was -and still is- a bit surreal. I still cannot believe it but I think it this calls for a little celebration. What a nice way to end 2012 and start 2013!

You can read Ann Morgan’s quest in tracking down a Kuwaiti book written in English to include in her book and her thoughts regarding my book here (link). I’m typing this with a big stupid grin on my face and if you are a Dathra fan, you might feel a nice tingling sensation in your heart as you read Ann Morgan’s words too and see Kuwait featured in the list. Also, I’m interested in the other book from around the world that were read and featured in the project, a nice way to add a few more international books to my shelves.

Thank you Ann Morgan, you totally made my day and the rest of 2012 for me, I’m glad to have been of service. Much obliged :)

Video: Celebrating Social Media Day

By | June 30, 2012

Today, 30th of June, we celebrate the Social Media day! Thanks to social media, we are all glued to our tech devices all the time, connecting with everyone everywhere on planet earth. Knowledge is power, and social media made access to knowledge as fast as a click of a button.

In honor of this day the social media club released the video where different people with different experiences in the social media field talk about this day. Your truly is one of them appearing somewhere -I’m too afraid to watch- as well as many of my fellow bloggers like Ansam, His & Hers, Blog 37, Q8 Stig, and Q8 Path. So without further ado watch the video and have a happy social media day -ironically Instagram is down but we can still enjoy it nevertheless-.

In Case You Didn’t Know What Danderma Means

By | October 29, 2011

Danderma actually has a meaning. It is not a nickname for Dana, it is not a nice sounding word only, it is not a just a name. It is the old Kuwaiti word for ice cream. It was the first thing Iooked for when I bought the Kuwaiti Dialect Encyclopedia and sure enough there it was :)

If you didn’t know what Danderma meant until this post, what did you think it meant? I’m curious…
