Last week was the opening diner, a new burger place in Kuwait City and the newest addition to the thriving and already saturated burger scene in town. Why would I go to another burger place? Because they are the first in Kuwait to serve the Ramen Burger, the latest burger craze that took NYC by a storm, replacing the bun with Ramen noodles.
The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Atari” is the Atari video games we used to play in the very early 80’s, therefore when a new restaurant with the name Atari opened up a while back the name did catch my attention and made me want to dine there, and I finally had the chance to do so last Thursday. Last week we had the pleasure of being invited to a private tasting event of the new menu at The Butcher’s Den. I’ve been to the Butcher’s Den before and liked it a lot although the service was a bit clunky since they were in their soft opening phase still. Now that they are operating full time I expected the service to be top notch and indeed it was. Read more »
Whenever I am in Dubai I have a last day before boarding the plane ritual. It involves checking out of the hotel, driving to Dubai Mall, ending up our shopping and then grabbing some lunch in Wafi Gourmet before heading to the airport. Growing up in the 80’s meant watching a lot of Egyptian movies and TV serieses. Whenever I was watching and they had breakfast, I’d wish I was joining them at the table and eating from their breakfast, always plates laden with food and people sharing. Therefore when I knew that the modernised Egyptian-themed restaurant C-omar began to serve breakfast, I wanted to go and see what they had to offer. Read more »
Back in November, which now feels just like yesterday, I’ve been granted a sneak preview of the Gathering Bistro before it was officially open (post). Fast forward six months later and we finally had the chance to try it out for dinner and we had an excellent time! The weather was windy and cool, the tables filled out quickly, a nice soundtrack playing subtly in the background and at one point Dido’s white flag was -yes, I’m a fan- and most importantly, the food was really good! First we had to try the Cheesy potato bombs, they seemed smaller that what we remember but they were as tasty and excellent as a comfort food dish can be. Read more »
A while ago I’ve been walking in the Souk district of the Avenues mall when I saw a boarded up coming soon restaurant under the name of “C-Omar”. C is a word used in Egypt for mister and if I’m not mistaken there is a black and white movie by the name of C-Omar. Therefore C-Omar was clearly a new Egyptian restaurant and judging by the modern looking design and my love for Egyptian food, I knew I will keep an eye out for its opening. Read more »

I had a dinner party yesterday and I’ve decided to make the salads myself. I was leafing through my cookbooks when I saw a recipe for a salad with popcorn as an ingredient. At first I was like, really? popcorn? Then I thought to myself why not? The salad recipe I found had plain popcorn and radishes with veggies and wasn’t that interesting so I decided to make my own version of a popcorn salad. After all, flavored popcorn have officially become a craze in Kuwait these days so how bad can it turn out really? Read more »

Yesterday night we were invited for another albeit more casual Blogerettes gathering in FourMe’s place… Rules: Come from your couch as you are… no fuss and wear nothing but sweats or track suits! We were prepared to lounge casually around the couches, eating harmful but yummy food, and talking about nothing and everything 😀
The menu as you can see was 5 large pizza’s -can you guess from where?- and lots of soft drinks… and every one who attended brought… CUPCAKES!!! While we were waiting for the pizza’s to arrive the girls were eating one cupcake after another with tea! I was worried that they would ruit their appetite for real dinner: Pizza & salad from Salad boutique! It didn’t help that we were indulged in a 100% homemade chocolate cake made by the one and only FourMe herself!!! Yes the yummy cake that looks like a hedgehodge is hers!
That was one lovely sugar and fat filled night to remember… Thank you girls for another amazing gathering :* That’s 4y’s cake below by the way it deserves another standing ovation 😀
