Trying Triangles Restaurant’s New Menu

By | August 21, 2016

A few days back I was invited by Triangle restaurant to try their new and different menu. I like triangle a lot and have seen pictures of their “new” items so needless to say I made sure to go with a good hungry appetite knowing exactly what I wanted to try. Lets say I was not disappointed at all and I’m warning you, dangerous pictures are awaiting you below.

Lucky for me, I arrived on a Saturday during a lull in the lunch service. It was between lunch and dinner and so I had the place to myself and took as many pictures as I’ve liked without bothering other diners. By the time I got to my main course though, the restaurant had filled up and there was a waiting list! So if my colourful pictures make you want to have your next meal over at Triangle, make sure to call before you go to make sure there are available tables. Waiting list I tell you!  Read more »

Lunch at Joori from Beirut

By | June 9, 2014

Just before I left for Australia I received the “rosiest” invitation to the opening of Kuwait’s newest Lebanese restaurant, Joori from Beirut. I wasn’t able to attend the opening, but I’ve watched the beauty of the restaurant via my fellow bloggers pictures of the place on instagram and I knew I wanted to try it as soon as I was back home, which I finally managed to do last weekend. Lunch at GIA Mediterranean Cafe

By | October 21, 2013

ok

I think it was back during the holy month of Ramadan when I first started following the instagram account of GIA cafe. They were testing their dishes and I knew by looking at what they had to offer that I wanted to try them out, really wanted to, for they reminded me of Ottelenghi’s in London. After a long wait, they finally opened their doors yesterday afternoon and I wasted no time heading over to GIA’s for some lunch.  Read more »

By | August 19, 2013

About a year ago I was in the United Tower in Kuwait City for the first time attending the opening of Upper Crust Pizzeria when I saw a sign for “Cafe November”. November can mean one thing and one thing only, that the distinguished November Bakery is opening up a cafe! If you love and admire the November Bakery as much as I do, you’d know how happy I was when I knew just before Ramadan that they were finally open. Read more »

It involves checking out of the hotel, driving to Dubai Mall, ending up our shopping and then grabbing some lunch in Wafi Gourmet before heading to the airport. Lunch at Fauchon Café in the Avenues

By | April 16, 2013

Last week I was shopping in the Prestige district of the Avenues mall when I passed by the newly opened Fauchon café. It was buzzing with diners and suddenly I was hit by the strongest craving for their cheese club sandwich, which is excellent by the way. It was night time and Prestige district is always too dark for my liking so I decided to come by the next day to have my club sandwich for lunch and I’m glad I did. Read more »

Koshary Take 2: Koshary Jo7a's

By | December 17, 2010

Yesterday afternoon as i got out of my orthodontists appointment i had to eat something soft to eat… and since i was craving Koshary anyways i thought let me make the trip to the alleys of Hawalli to get my self some…

I honked and yelled and cursed all the way Koshary Jo7a in 7awalli, the behind Fotokina on the same street as Hasan Abuls & Alshaye3… don’t know the street’s name though… i got there, ordered my self a koshary for two and came back home…

I already had some chickpeas… so i mixed the stuff up and took the picture… Boy does it look different from the one i got the other day! It was more appetizing and much more fresh! Tasted amazing too!!!

Highly recommended for a first Koshary Trial 😀

Who Makes the Best Koshary in Q8?

By | December 13, 2010

I woke up this morning with the strangest craving ever… I was craving Koshary!

Not only plain old koshary… no no no it won’t do… i was craving koshary topped with chickpeas… something we do not have in Q8… this strange craving comes from reading Ansam’s Post about Koshary Abu Tareq!!!

What was i supposed to do now? People wake up craving toast biscuits croissant not Koshary! Koshary Jo7a make pretty good koshary and considering the horrible weather outside today i couldn’t drive all the way to Hawalli -i feared for my safety- so i went online and searched… apparently Koshary Taw El Lail that is being sold in Surra & Khaldiya co-op is supposed to be good.

So i drove there and got my self some… and some chickpeas as well… i put them together and tried the combo together… not bad but didn’t taste as good as i expected it to be…

The craving is still not satisfied… i must retry the combination from elsewhere! if you are a fan of Koshary do you know of Koshary place other than Koshary Jo7a that sells pretty good Koshary please?!

HIGHLY & URGENTLY RECOMMENDED: Zaatar W Zeit's Cheese Samboosa!

By | November 10, 2010

You know when you taste something so good, so heavenly, you think how ever on earth did i live without this good bite of heaven?!

My friends at work got us some lunch from Zaatar W Zeit… there was a box of cheese samboosa… i never was inclined to taste their samboosa… i mean who would eat a samboosa from a fatayer place no? Urged by my friends to try one… i took a bite of the little hot pie… and i was instantly in love…

It’s so soft… so salty yet tang and herby… it’s just the right bite of chewy and crunchy… it is AMAZING… no no.. not amazing… OUT OF THIS WORLD! I almost ate the whole box all alone!!! If you get it very hot, and get a cup of steaming hot tea with mint and sugar… and combine the two: a bite from the samboosa followed by a sip of tea… i assure you that you will want to eat nothing but that combination for the next year.

How on earth did i not know about this culinary delight is beyond me! Why didn’t any one tell me about it before?! Haa?  MUST TRY people… i mean it… i am already salivating imagining the taste the thinking of ordering more for Dinner tonight *brrrrrrrrrr*

Trader Vics….

By | February 6, 2009

tradervics

I know that Trader Vics is more famous for it’s cooktails rather than it’s food. and i know that it did not start franchising abroad in the middle east until it’s fame has started diminishing…

So i had never tried it before.

But today i was bored, i do not want to go to a place with tons of people and cars waiting for a parking and herds of people dressed up to the nines and staring. We were hungry so we though ok lets try it… Read more »
