As September is drawing to a close I sit back and wonder how fast will it feel before we celebrate 2014? I didn’t care much for how 2013 turned out so far but I suppose there is still hope that the last quarter would make up for it. Speaking of which, I came upon something, a discovery if you may, when I was talking to a “friend” a few weeks back that got me pondering the matter of trying to save a bit of money from your income and the response I got from the friend, as if I had grown two heads and began spitting fire like a dragon, left me dumbfounded to say the least. A year or so ago when I did the “What can you buy with a 5 fils coin” (post) I thought that the 5 fils were the only coins you couldn’t use on their own to purchase something in Kuwait and you had to at least have 10 fils to buy something. Then I went looking around for something to buy for 10 fils and here is a list of things you can buy with a 10 fils Read more »
What do you do with your foreign coins from your travels? I do have a box for them but I feel that there could be more to them than just putting them away in some box. Exactly one year and ten days ago I wrote a post about trying to save up in my NBK Camel Money Bank, or 7asalat el jamal as we call it in Kuwait (post). I vowed to open it one year later during this Ramadan and thanks be to god, I was alive and well just to do that the other day Read more »
We were talking about currencies and how they break into coins when the subject arose regarding the purchasing power of our local Kuwaiti coin. We racked our brains and realized the cheapest thing we can come up with is a loaf of Iranian bread for 20 fils! So the 20 fils can purchase something, the 1 fils is rarely seen anymore. What about the 5 fils coin?
Do you have any idea on things we can purchase with a 5 fils coin? That we can actually pay for them with the 5 fils?
While posting about the Body Shop Gift Set the other day i remembered how much i loved the Body Shop. Growing up i always vowed to spend my first ever hard earned salary buying everything in the Body Shop 😀
By the time i did actually get my salary, the first thing i bought was a Panasonic CD player from Virgin Megastore, followed by a DVD Home Theatre set which was a bit expensive in 2003
Whatever i had left must have gone on knicknacks! I must take a look into my old Salary Excel File and see what did i buy with it all… but the moment i started spending that money, it was the most amazing feeling EVER!
How did you spend your first hard earned salary? If you still didn’t get it, what are your grand plans towards spending it 😀
