Yesterday was a gloomy day. I was blue and sniffing and sad when I was asked if I had ordered a cake? I hadn’t and the driver had already dropped the cake off and left so I went to see the cake. It was one big huge box!

I saw a card on top of the box and it had a greeting card and The Chocolate Bar Logo.

Inside the card was just a greeting and the signature @TheChocoBar

I remembered that yesterday Butootee had gotten a call from a delivery guy asking him about his address because he had a greeting to send him. Given that Chocolate Bar had sent him a huge box of chocolate and flowers as a Ramadan greeting in 2006 I figured this was for Butootee. What’s inside?

Y7leelah! Whose the little fella? Kharoof cake! Little Kharoof! How cute?! The attention to detail was amazing! I took like a thousand pictures of the innocent little fella! Check him out!

What does the cake look like from the inside?

Chocolate and vanilla frosting! Perfect! I adore chocolate cakes! I just felt a pang in my heart thinking that this cake was meant for Butootee and he wasn’t there to see it. I couldn’t take one bite of it but they say its very good.

Only later on did I realize that other bloggers had gotten the same cake and it was in fact meant for me and not Butootee? Hmmm so it was my cake not his :p

The good thing about the cake is that its not huge. It is a perfect size for a family gathering or chalet gathering or a homey birthday. I like it a LOT! The little kharoof was so cute so very very cute I felt sad cutting him up maskeen.

Thank you Chocolate Bar for your Eid Greeting and for putting a much needed smile on my face. 3eedkom Embarak too o ma ga9artaw :)

    This Eid motto should be:

What an insensitive idea both to Islam and to the taking of an animal’s life for a worthy cause.

That is one freaky looking cake! The kara3een are awful. I wouldn’t touch it let alone eat it!

I was googling kharoof cakes to get ideas for my son’s Eid party in his Islamic School here in Baltimore. Lo and Behold I came across this freakishly awesome post! I don’t think I can replicate the beauty of this cake, but it was still great to see! I was going to go with something even more gory-red velvet cake :)

p.s. why is it that western khirfan are white and fluffy and Middle Eastern ones are sort of beige and boorish?
