In the very last days of January I had the chance to get a sneak peek inside the location of a new bakery in Kuwait City that was due to open very soon. The name is Days Boutique, an artisan desserts bakery located in Dar Al-Awadhi right next door to the famous Karak Gholam. The decor of the coming-soon Days Boutique is quite lovely, modern with a huge studded revolving door, patterned tiles, and endless gorgeous light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Read more »

A while back I was browsing different instagram profiles when I came upon a mouth-watering picture of a white sponge fruit cake. I’m a sucker for a good food picture, it can do wonders to my cravings so I checked out the rest of the pictures in that instagram profile. Not only were the pictures good, they also were about desserts from a healthy and low-calorie bakery called Elements! I knew it was a matter of time until I placed my order. Read more »
When I passed by Shakshooka farmers market a while ago (post), one of the things I got for myself was a jar of wrapped sweets. I frankly just grabbed it when it was laid on the table when I knew it was “caramels” and I’m not a big fan of caramels. I’ve been a fan of Or Bakery ever since I’ve bitten into my very first chocolate brownie with an oozing liquid chocolate centre (post). Many chocolate brownies later, Or remained my favourite Kuwaiti-made chocolate destination and I always wondered why they didn’t open their own shop. I think 2013 deserves to be called the year where Kuwaiti businesses expanded from homes to actual stores, for Or Bakery has finally opened up a shop in Burj Jassim. Read more »
