A few days back I was invited by Triangle restaurant to try their new and different menu. I like triangle a lot and have seen pictures of their “new” items so needless to say I made sure to go with a good hungry appetite knowing exactly what I wanted to try. Lets say I was not disappointed at all and I’m warning you, dangerous pictures are awaiting you below.
Lucky for me, I arrived on a Saturday during a lull in the lunch service. It was between lunch and dinner and so I had the place to myself and took as many pictures as I’ve liked without bothering other diners. By the time I got to my main course though, the restaurant had filled up and there was a waiting list! So if my colourful pictures make you want to have your next meal over at Triangle, make sure to call before you go to make sure there are available tables. Waiting list I tell you! Read more »
The other day I was invited for a tasting dinner in Nutri, one of Kuwait City’s newest restaurants located in Dar Al-Awadhi and specialising in providing light and healthy meals in a restaurant setting. Don’t you wish there were more health-oriented restaurants around in the land of 1001 restaurants? Please let it be the next trend, we are so tired of burger joints! Read more »
Back in December the much loved and very popular Turkish cafe Mado finally opened its doors in Kuwait. The opening followed a long period of anticipation on instagram with many devoted followers asking about the opening date. I was travelling when it did open, early December 2014, and I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about it all of them advising me me to wait a bit until they get on their feet and ran things smoothly. For a while now I’ve been hearing local foodies raving about the arrival of the “Cannoli” to the dessert scene in Kuwait. Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be anymore Oreo-stuffed Nutella-laden dessert combinations left to invent and sell from home, a new home business springs up with a totally different authentic dessert all the way from Sicily, Italy and the name is Cannoli. One famous restaurant in Kuwait is, or rather was, the 99 restaurant in Salhiya well known and loved for its pizza. A while back the doors of 99 Salhiya were bordered up and the sign taken down, another bearing the name Scafalli took its place. We’ve driven by several times before it was open and finally last week they did so we decided to stop by for dinner. Read more »
Last weekend and on an extremely gorgeous day, weather wise, I received a heavy paper bag invitation from Kuwait’s newest burger place, Big Smoke, whose opening I attended last night. Inside the big paper bag was the invitation card along with an apron and a salt & pepper or herbs shaker, a perfect gift for the BBQ season especially in such a great weather. Read more »
I think it was back during the holy month of Ramadan when I first started following the instagram account of GIA cafe. They were testing their dishes and I knew by looking at what they had to offer that I wanted to try them out, really wanted to, for they reminded me of Ottelenghi’s in London. After a long wait, they finally opened their doors yesterday afternoon and I wasted no time heading over to GIA’s for some lunch. Read more »
Last week we had the pleasure of being invited to a private tasting event of the new menu at The Butcher’s Den. I’ve been to the Butcher’s Den before and liked it a lot although the service was a bit clunky since they were in their soft opening phase still. Now that they are operating full time I expected the service to be top notch and indeed it was. Read more »

About a year ago I was in the United Tower in Kuwait City for the first time attending the opening of Upper Crust Pizzeria when I saw a sign for “Cafe November”. November can mean one thing and one thing only, that the distinguished November Bakery is opening up a cafe! If you love and admire the November Bakery as much as I do, you’d know how happy I was when I knew just before Ramadan that they were finally open. Read more »

Erecting big restaurant complexes with outdoors seating is the latest it trend or habba in Kuwait. I’m not complaining, more places to hang out and eat out for us, and the latest of which is the just opened Arabella complex in Al-Bidaa. Read more »
Back again at one of my current favourite restaurants in Kuwait, but this time I’m trying it for breakfast for I’ve seen pictures and the pictures beckoned me over to the Grand Avenues and up the Elevator of Harvey Nichols. When I went it was a weekend morning, and I was there at 9 A.M. expecting to see an empty restaurant -and an empty Avenues- but to my surprise the Avenues was bustling with activity and Véranda had Read more »
Ever since Véranda’s opening in March 2013 I’ve been there several times for different occasions and each and every time I’ve had a lip-smacking meal and an excellent time. The last time I was there was last Thursday with my friends. People were just out of work starting their weekend, the Avenues was filling up fast with people so we chose to go to Véranda: overlooking the weekend hubbub from the balcony but not bothered by the crowds. Last week I was shopping in the Prestige district of the Avenues mall when I passed by the newly opened Fauchon café. It was buzzing with diners and suddenly I was hit by the strongest craving for their cheese club sandwich, which is excellent by the way. It was night time and Prestige district is always too dark for my liking so I decided to come by the next day to have my club sandwich for lunch and I’m glad I did. Read more »
We were invited for a private preview dinner of Cavalli Cafè which took place yesterday.
