The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Atari” is the Atari video games we used to play in the very early 80’s, therefore when a new restaurant with the name Atari opened up a while back the name did catch my attention and made me want to dine there, and I finally had the chance to do so last Thursday. A couple of weeks ago users on instagram began sharing the account and pictures of a new restaurant in Kuwait City that goes by the name of Eight. I saw the pictures and the bio of the restaurant promised an exclusive, luxury, dining experience and I knew I wanted to try it at once. Read more »
Back in November, which now feels just like yesterday, I’ve been granted a sneak preview of the Gathering Bistro before it was officially open (post). Fast forward six months later and we finally had the chance to try it out for dinner and we had an excellent time! The weather was windy and cool, the tables filled out quickly, a nice soundtrack playing subtly in the background and at one point Dido’s white flag was -yes, I’m a fan- and most importantly, the food was really good! First we had to try the Cheesy potato bombs, they seemed smaller that what we remember but they were as tasty and excellent as a comfort food dish can be. Read more »
A while ago I’ve been walking in the Souk district of the Avenues mall when I saw a boarded up coming soon restaurant under the name of “C-Omar”. C is a word used in Egypt for mister and if I’m not mistaken there is a black and white movie by the name of C-Omar. Therefore C-Omar was clearly a new Egyptian restaurant and judging by the modern looking design and my love for Egyptian food, I knew I will keep an eye out for its opening. Read more »
