A few days back I was invited by Triangle restaurant to try their new and different menu. I like triangle a lot and have seen pictures of their “new” items so needless to say I made sure to go with a good hungry appetite knowing exactly what I wanted to try. Lets say I was not disappointed at all and I’m warning you, dangerous pictures are awaiting you below.

Lucky for me, I arrived on a Saturday during a lull in the lunch service. It was between lunch and dinner and so I had the place to myself and took as many pictures as I’ve liked without bothering other diners. By the time I got to my main course though, the restaurant had filled up and there was a waiting list! So if my colourful pictures make you want to have your next meal over at Triangle, make sure to call before you go to make sure there are available tables. Waiting list I tell you!  Read more »

One famous restaurant in Kuwait is, or rather was, the 99 restaurant in Salhiya well known and loved for its pizza. A while back the doors of 99 Salhiya were bordered up and the sign taken down, another bearing the name Scafalli took its place. We’ve driven by several times before it was open and finally last week they did so we decided to stop by for dinner. Read more »

Trying Kuwait’s First Ramen Burger at Diner Restaurant

By | September 16, 2013

rdkrb-027

Last week was the opening diner, a new burger place in Kuwait City and the newest addition to the thriving and already saturated burger scene in town. Why would I go to another burger place? Because they are the first in Kuwait to serve the Ramen Burger, the latest burger craze that took NYC by a storm, replacing the bun with Ramen noodles.

Dinner At Atari Asian Tapas Restaurant

By | September 8, 2013

The first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “Atari” is the Atari video games we used to play in the very early 80’s, therefore when  a new restaurant with the name Atari opened up a while back the name did catch my attention and made me want to dine there, and I finally had the chance to do so last Thursday.  Read more »

The Butcher’s Den Bloggers Tasting

By | September 7, 2013

Last week we had the pleasure of being invited to a private tasting event of the new menu at The Butcher’s Den. I’ve been to the Butcher’s Den before and liked it a lot although the service was a bit clunky since they were in their soft opening phase still. Now that they are operating full time I expected the service to be top notch and indeed it was. Read more »

Dinner at Pintxos Restaurant

By | September 1, 2013

There, at the very end of the Seif strip of restaurant overlooking the Seif Palace, sits a restaurant space that now has the name Pintxos. Many restaurants have come and gone in this particular spot, an Italian one if I recall correctly, then another Japanese one. None of the restaurants that opened in that spot were successful even though the area is popular and the restaurant space is big with lovely outdoors seating. It wasn’t meant to be I suppose. Dinner at the Gathering Bistro

By | May 1, 2013

Back in November, which now feels just like yesterday, I’ve been granted a sneak preview of the Gathering Bistro before it was officially open (post). Fast forward six months later and we finally had the chance to try it out for dinner and we had an excellent time! The weather was windy and cool, the tables filled out quickly, a nice soundtrack playing subtly in the background and at one point Dido’s white flag was -yes, I’m a fan- and most importantly, the food was really good! First we had to try the Cheesy potato bombs, they seemed smaller that what we remember but they were as tasty and excellent as a comfort food dish can be. Read more »

Breakfast at Figs by Todd English in the Avenues

By | April 21, 2013

Ever since Figs by Todd’s English opened up in 360 Mall they served breakfast and judging by the pictures of diners I saw on instagram, it was a breakfast that I really wanted to try. However, I’m not much of a fan of Figs in 360, for one thing the seating area bears too much resemblance to the food court next door. I saw the pictures, got hungry, yet knew I’d never drag myself up from bed during the weekend to go to their 360 branch. Read more »

By | April 17, 2013

Ribs and Rumps, an Australian steakhouse franchise and one of Kuwait’s newest eateries, hosted a blogger’s dinner a few nights ago. Ribs and Rumps have been in their soft opening phase for about a week or ten days now and when we arrived the outdoors seating area was busy with diners, the weather was sensational that night and perfect for dining outdoors and people watching.
