Today, 7 June 2012, marks the first anniversary of my first book signing. It is also the day the second volume of The Chronicles of Dathra is published 😀
This time the book came with the work: editing, proofreading, and a lovely book cover! Its not available online yet though but it will be soon. Just a matter of printing, a few days and I will announce its sell date which shouldn’t take long insha2 Allah 😀
So, to all Dathra fans out there who have been asking about the book, it is published and will be sold very very soon so stay tuned 😉

One year ago, I had announced on my blog that Dathra has now become a published book (post).
Time flies so fast! Ever since that announcement I’ve had so much feedback its overwhelming. Many were happy it was finally a book. 99.9% hated the book cover. I had an amazing book signing night, flower bouquets, chocolates and gifts, went on sale in Dubai and became Kinokuniya’s 2nd best seller, went on sale in Amazon, and changed my life forever.
I still cannot believe I have an actual book. It is so weird, like looking through a bubble to the outside world. Of course it wasn’t all roses and cream. Got scathing reviews, people who hated it, people who hated its mistakes, people who hated the use of my nickname Danderma on it. People who hated me having a book in the first place.
On this occasion I am glad to announce that book 2 is not very far behind. Not at all. Expect an announcement that its out starting mid May. Book cover is being done by a well known and much loved local Kuwaiti talent who is also a Dathra fan -care to take a guess?-. Book editing and proofreading is being handled by a professional friend with a degree.
Its just a matter of time really before you have the 2nd book in your hand and its going to ROCK! If you haven’t read the first book I suggest you go and read it now in preparation for the 2nd. My dream for this book is to be stocked at my favorite bookstore of all times, Waterstones UK. You never know it might actually come true.
On Dathra’s book’s birthday I just want to thank you, every single one of you, especially the ones who hated the book and weren’t afraid to say so. For everyone who asked when the 2nd book is coming out, it made me want to finish the 2nd book just for you.

A dear reader of my blog, Naheda Ismail, emailed me earlier tonight to let me know that she had found my book on Amazon. Yes, you read that right… AMAZON!
My book is sold on AMAZON! I thought from the email I had recieved from my publisher that my book had been rejected? It is available in AMAZON… my book! My humble little book is sold in AMAZON! Not only Amazon, also Amazon UK! Imagine!
I can’t believe it! Its like a dream come true! I feel like someone had knocked out the wind out of me. My heart is racing and my eyes are filling with tears and I just want to keep my laptop open on Amazon all night long while I stroke my own book on the screen and look inside and laugh as it says that the publisher has shared a limited number of pages :’) Its mine! I wrote it, its mine, and its out there for the entire world to see!!!
I am quite proud of myself at this moment. I plan to dress up and go out to celebrate this lifelong achievement of mine. I wish my readers and Dathra’s fans can feel the pride I feel, it is filling my lungs and oozing out to my surrounding.
Thanks to you, Dathra’s fans, for it wasn’t for you I would never had made it into a book or tried to get out for entire world to see. Thank you guys, truly thank you *dissolves into a fit of happy crazy disbelieving tears*.

I had received an email yesterday regarding my Dathra book that had immediately reduced me to tears. Big fat tears of happiness. Nora, a Kuwaiti Dathra Fan who was in Dubai and passed by Kinokuniya to get a copy of my book took the pictures above and below for me. Do you notice something? Perhaps a number 2 next to my book? My books is #2 in Kinokuniya’s Best 10 books chart? MY BOOK?!
Ee wallah it is! I couldn’t believe it! I cried and I cried and I nearly fled the house to go to Dubai at 1 AM Saturday morning just to see this with my own eyes. I can’t believe it. Do you think its a mistake? That its #2 as in the 2nd local interest book that had arrived? Mo?

I recieved a tweet from one of my followers in twitters yesterday showing me the pictures of the first Dathra book sold in 52 Degrees. How do we know its the first?
Because it wasn’t on sale yet, according to her she stood her ground and insisted on buying it right then and there so they barcoded the book with the price and sold it. They also gave her two 52 degrees bookmarkers to go with the book 😀

The book has finally arrived from the printers and the deal has been signed. Yawmyat Wa7da Q8ya Dathra, Volume I, will be sold exclusively in 52 Degrees starting tomorrow and for the next six months 😀
There is also a date for the book signing but it is not finalized yet. I will announce it for sure in the coming couple of days insha2 Allah 😀

You know what I really want to do? I want to smell it! I love how books smell, I wonder of YWQD book smells good? I want to leaf through the pages… I cannot believe it. There is a printed book and the content is actually written by me! Somehow this makes me feel old for some reason.
I wish Aramex provide an option for extra speedy shipping for an extra cost. Kinda like DHL or something I might wait for Jacques arrival to Kuwait Airport on Saturday and kidnap the book from her :p Jacques has been super supportive and excited on my behalf so far, I don’t think she would mind me stealing the book :p

I have not been postinlikg much lately because I was busy with editing the content of Yawmyat Wa7da Q8ya Dathra.If you follow me on Twitter then most likely you have been trying to translate some parts of it with me. Thank you my dear tweeps, without you I wouldn’t have been able to publish this book.
The book is available for paperback as if this moment on this website (link).
The book will be available for sale as an eBook soon. Also it needs a few weeks before it appears as an iBook and on Amazon.com, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they won’t reject it because its under review for these important resellers.
Oh and this is Volume I, Volume II is coming very soon.
